WEST CHESTER, PA — Nominations are now open for the 2025 West Chester Preservation Awards, organized by the West Chester Downtown Foundation. This annual event recognizes efforts to preserve the borough’s historic character, encouraging restoration and conservation within the community.
The awards honor individuals, projects, and organizations committed to protecting and enhancing West Chester’s architectural and cultural heritage. Categories include the Bricks and Mortar Awards for physical preservation work, Preservation Service Awards for advocacy and education, and Special Recognition Awards, issued at the discretion of the selection committee.
Eligible projects must be located in the Borough of West Chester and demonstrate excellence in historic preservation. Submissions, which close June 10, 2025, require a detailed project description, evidence of community impact, and supporting materials such as photographs or historical records.
Award winners will be celebrated at the annual ceremony on Thursday, October 16, bringing together preservationists, community leaders, and residents to highlight the value of maintaining the borough’s storied architecture and charm.
