WEST CHESTER, PA — State Representative Chris Pielli, D-Chester, has presented a $25,000 check to the West Chester Area Senior Center. This infusion of state funds, announced during the center’s Holiday Palooza celebration on Wednesday, will be directed toward upgrading the center’s computer lab.
The grant will allow the center to enhance its computer equipment and network capacity. The aim is to provide seniors, who may not have regular access to such technology, the ability to use computers and the internet.
Pielli emphasized the importance of reliable internet access in today’s world. “These days, everyone’s lives are tied to the internet in some way, shape, or form,” he said. “Outdated equipment can make our everyday access to the internet frustrating and sometimes impossible.”
The state representative expressed hope that the upgraded equipment would make it easier for seniors to access online resources. He noted that this initiative aligns with his commitment to improving the quality of life for seniors in his district.
This funding aims to assist in bridging the digital divide among seniors. With this upgrade, the West Chester Area Senior Center will continue to serve as a hub of activity and connectivity for the elderly community, enriching their lives through increased digital engagement.
