WEST CHESTER, PA — Historic downtown West Chester is about to be aglow in more holiday lights than ever as Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester welcomes visitors to one of the region’s top “shop small” experiences, presented by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce during West Chester’s 225th anniversary year.
“We have more than 80,000 lights this year adorning our historic streets as visitors enjoy dozens of free, family-friendly holiday festivities while strolling through the nearly 150 unique shops and restaurants that make downtown West Chester so unforgettable during the holiday season,” said Katie Walker, President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce.
The sparkling wonderland and FREE festivities run Black Friday through New Year’s Day during Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester, with new programming each weekend including the Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series, Professional Gingerbread House Competition, Free Photos with Santa and more events at www.GWCC.org
- Friday, 11/29 through 12/21, the West Chester Borough Balladeer Carolers serenade shoppers in Victorian attire.
- Every Saturday, 11/30 through 12/21, catch Santa on a classic fire truck and the Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series.
- On Friday, December 6, watch as the dazzling 25-foot Christmas tree is lit at 6:30pm and the West Chester Christmas Parade returns at 7 pm with 6abc’s Adam Joseph and WMMR’s Kathy Romano as emcees.
- 12/4-1/5, be dazzled by the Professional Gingerbread House Competition at multiple locations throughout town and cast your vote!
- On 12/14, enjoy FREE photos with Santa with historic West Chester as your background outside M&T Bank, 2pm-4pm. Shop for goodies at the 5th Annual Christkindlmarkt, 11am-7pm.
