EXTON, PA — In celebration of National Clean-Up Day, Uwchlan Township’s Environmental Advisory Council is spearheading a community clean-up event along Route 100. The initiative, scheduled for Saturday, September 21st at 9:00 AM, aims to address local litter issues and promote environmental stewardship.

National Clean-Up Day, held annually on the third Saturday of September since 2017, encourages nationwide efforts to reduce waste and litter. Over a million participants have been involved in cleaning parks, beaches, rivers, and forests, significantly reducing litter across America.

For this event, participants will gather at 605 N. Pottstown Pike, meeting at the Colonial 100 Shoppes. Given the busy traffic conditions, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Safety measures include wearing bright colors, long shirts, pants, and closed-toe sturdy shoes. The council will provide safety vests, gloves, litter pickers, grabbers, and trash bags. Volunteers are advised to bring a small backpack for carrying trash bags and a water bottle.

To register, interested participants can email uscleanupuwchlan@gmail.com. This event not only aims to beautify the area but also fosters a sense of community responsibility and environmental consciousness.
