EXTON, PA — State Representative Danielle Friel Otten has awarded a $94,000 state grant to the East Brandywine Fire Company to enhance their emergency response capabilities. The funding, provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, will be used to outfit a new rescue vehicle with a Res-Q-Jack kit and battery-powered rescue tools. This investment will also allow existing equipment to be redeployed across other vehicles in the fleet.

“The communities served by East Brandywine Fire Company have experienced significant growth over the past several years and continue to grow at a rapid pace,” said Representative Otten, D-Chester. “This new equipment will help East Brandywine Fire Company continue to provide high-quality emergency services to keep up with the increased need. I commend East Brandywine for their hard work and dedication to keeping our neighbors safe, and I am glad we’ve been able to help fulfill this funding request.”

Fire Chief Vince D’Amico and President John Edwards of East Brandywine Fire Company expressed their appreciation, saying, “The support of the state representative to our emergency services is second to none. This funding will be instrumental in our ability to provide high-quality emergency services to the community.”

The East Brandywine Fire Company serves East Brandywine, West Brandywine, and Upper Uwchlan townships, areas that have seen rapid population growth in recent years. The grant will help ensure the department remains equipped to meet increasing emergency demands in these expanding communities.

This funding marks a significant step in strengthening the local fire company’s capacity to protect residents. Looking ahead, it underscores the continued need for investment in emergency services to support the safety and well-being of growing communities.
