PAOLI, PA — State Representatives Melissa Shusterman and Kristine Howard are joining forces to host a comprehensive Pet Resource Fair & Vaccine Clinic. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Penn State Great Valley campus, serving residents of the 157th and 167th Legislative Districts.

This inaugural event promises to provide a wealth of resources and services for pet enthusiasts in Chester County. Attendees will gain insights into dog license registration, grooming, and pet health. Furthermore, the fair will feature over 15 vendors offering resources for a variety of animals, including horses, dogs, and cats. Notably, the fair will offer low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics, as well as access to a fully equipped mobile veterinary practice.

The event also highlights special appearances by local K9 heroes from the Chester County Emergency Response Team and therapy dogs to help attendees decompress. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to learn from experts about finding lost pets, securing care during financial hardship, and meeting a fully trained service dog with its handler.

Rep. Melissa Shusterman expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are excited to offer animal lovers a wide range of resources to help them care for their pets. This event will help reduce costs for pet owners, and hopefully, some furry friends will find their forever homes!” Her colleague, Rep. Kristine Howard, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the human-animal bond, “Animals are often a child’s first friend, and they provide us with so much support and kindness throughout our lives, and I am thrilled to foster this connection.”
