OXFORD, PA — It’s time to shake off the dust and breathe new life into your homes and yards! The Borough of Oxford has announced its 2024 Spring Clean-Up Event, a fantastic opportunity for residents to dispose of unwanted items and contribute to a cleaner, greener community. From April 17 to 20, 2024, between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm, the doors at 450 W. Locust St., Oxford, PA 19363, will be open to welcome all who wish to participate in this annual clean-up tradition.
Public works staff will be on-site to guide participants through the process and assist with unloading items. This year’s event promises a comprehensive disposal service, accepting a wide range of items including scrap metal, appliances, used oil, and yard waste. For those spring cleaners grappling with post-winter garden tidying, remember to place sticks and bagged yard waste curbside for the regular weekly pick-up.
In addition, the event will accommodate tire disposal for a nominal fee based on size, ensuring those old tires find a proper send-off. Remember to bring along any empty paint cans too—just ensure the lid is removed and all contents are dry. While the event is eager to embrace a variety of items, it’s important to note that hazardous materials, liquids, and recyclable electronics cannot be accepted.
To make the process as smooth as possible, the Borough’s recycling trailer will also be available throughout the event for all your recyclable materials. This initiative underscores Oxford’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community cleanliness.
Please note, this special clean-up service is exclusively for Oxford Borough residents, and proof of residency will be required upon arrival. All transactions for items requiring a fee will be cash only, ensuring a quick and efficient drop-off process. However, discretion lies with the public works staff, and they reserve the right to refuse any item or load.
For items not accepted at the Spring Clean-Up Event, residents are encouraged to contact the Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority (SECCRA) for alternatives.
This Spring Clean-Up Event is more than just a chance to declutter—it’s an invitation to contribute to the well-being of the community and environment. Mark your calendars, gather your items, and play your part in keeping Oxford beautiful.
