MALVERN, PA — Last week, area golfers, community members, and other supporters of Community Volunteers in Medicine gathered at Applebrook Golf Club for the 22nd annual CVIM Golf Classic.

The event, which raised record-breaking critical funds for the West Chester-based healthcare center, included both morning and afternoon rounds of golf, as well as lunch and dinner for golfers and donors.  This year’s Honorary Golf Classic Chair was Dr. Robert Priem, of Devon Family Practice.

Additional funds were raised through raffle ticket sales and a silent auction as well as a Live Auction, with showcased items ranging from golf outings (such as one featuring the opportunity to golf with former Eagle Brent Celek) to Philadelphia Phillies box seats, to bottles of wine from former Eagles Coach and winemaker Dick Vermeil, autographed by Coach Vermeil himself.

The Golf Classic has raised $6 million for CVIM over its 22-year history, with this year’s fundraising spearheaded by Lead Sponsors West Pharmaceutical Services, Penn Medicine, Independence Blue Cross, and Citadel Credit Union.

“The annual Golf Classic is one of the ways that the community comes together to meet a community need – healthcare for uninsured workers and their families,” said Maureen Tomoschuk, President and CEO of CVIM. “Thank you to Dr. Bob Priem and all of our generous sponsors and golfers.”
