DEVON, PA — Easttown Township has introduced a new local earned income tax for 2025, joining 73 other Chester County municipalities and school districts in collecting this revenue. A tax rate of 0.5% will apply to earned income and net profits for all township residents, as well as nonresidents who work within Easttown.
The Keystone Collections Group has been appointed as the administrator for the new tax. Keystone will handle the collection process and assist taxpayers with filing requirements. Employers within Easttown Township must begin withholding the tax from employee paychecks starting January 2025. Self-employed individuals will also be required to file and pay the tax.
Keystone provides an online platform for easy filing and reporting. Employers are encouraged to utilize Keystone’s Business Portal to submit payroll tax information, while individuals can access forms, FAQs, and resources directly through Keystone’s website. Taxpayer service agents are available for additional support.
“Many Easttown Township residents are already paying the tax in their workplace jurisdiction,” explained Joe Lazzaro, Keystone’s Vice President and General Counsel. “The action by Easttown Township helps to keep resident tax revenue in their home community.”
These changes aim to enhance the township’s ability to retain local tax revenue, benefiting the community’s long-term planning and development. Residents and employers are urged to familiarize themselves with the new processes to ensure compliance.
