WEST CHESTER, PA — The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is making a splash this summer by offering free outdoor pool memberships to both new and current members who sign up before March 31, 2024. This exciting opportunity is available for those holding an eligible membership type, ensuring that families across Chester County can beat the heat and enjoy the sun without worrying about additional costs.

Summer 2024 promises endless fun with outdoor pools open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day at five YGBW branches – Coatesville, Jennersville, Kennett Area, West Chester Area, and Upper Main Line. For those who love to swim laps, the Upper Main Line YMCA extends the season of its 50 Meter Outdoor Pool, catering to the fitness needs of its members.

Kim Cavallero, Vice President of Membership for YGBW, highlights the joy and community spirit that the pools bring, “Some of the best memories of summer happen around the pool. We’re thrilled to offer this benefit so our members can enjoy some screen-free fun in the sun.” From Olympic-sized lap pools to family-friendly features like the pirate ship slide at the West Chester branch, there’s something for everyone.

Safety is a top priority at the YGBW. With Ellis-Certified lifeguards on duty and rigorous audits conducted regularly, families can feel secure knowing that safety measures are strictly adhered to. “Pools come with risks, and we take our responsibility very seriously,” says Terri Edgar, Senior Vice-President of Branch Operations. The commitment to maintaining high safety standards ensures a worry-free environment for all.

In addition to summer fun, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine is also offering flexible career opportunities to support the increased activity during the outdoor pool season and summer camps. With plans to hire an additional 550 team members across Chester County, YGBW is seeking candidates for lifeguard, childcare, summer camp positions, and more. These roles offer flexibility and a chance to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Interested individuals are encouraged to explore these opportunities further by visiting the YMCA website or attending the county-wide career fair on May 4 at the Upper Main Line YMCA. With free outdoor pool access and a host of employment opportunities, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine is set to make summer 2024 unforgettable for families and job seekers alike.
