Incorporated in 1799, West Chester is the county seat of Chester County, PA, and the heart of the Brandywine Valley. With highly walkable neighborhoods, the borough’s downtown has an enchanting small-town quality but with a very metropolitan flare.
At the very center of Chester County life, the borough is an hour east of Philadelphia, and roughly 2.5 hours from both New York City and Washington D.C. Travelers will find lodging and amenities to meet their personal needs, tastes, and budgets.
Known for its vibrant downtown, there are over 80 local restaurants, a large walkable shopping district, rich cultural attractions, and active nightlife. The downtown literally has something for everyone, including live music events, street fairs, and much more. But, we believe the best time to visit is when they are having their annual, old-fashioned Christmas Parade. Nevertheless, once you visit, you may never want to leave.
