WEST CHESTER, PA — James Godorecci, a dentist from Wayne, Pennsylvania, has pled guilty to Simple Assault by Physical Menace, stemming from an incident involving a patient at Main Line Dental Aesthetics in Paoli. The plea was entered on Friday, April 11, resulting in a sentence of two years’ probation with conditions that include no contact with the victim and mandatory participation in sex offender treatment.
The case originated from a January 3, 2024, appointment where the victim, a patient seeking treatment for Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), alleged that Godorecci engaged in inappropriate physical contact. Under the plea agreement, Godorecci admitted to touching the victim’s breasts and nipples beneath her clothing during the visit.
District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe praised the victim’s bravery. “The victim showed great courage coming forward. No one should go in for medical treatment and get assaulted by the very person who is supposed to help them,” he stated.
Tredyffrin Township Police Chief Michael Beaty highlighted the teamwork involved in the investigation. “Because of incredible collaboration between investigators and prosecutors, we were able to tenaciously pursue justice for the victim,” Beaty said.
The case was led by the Tredyffrin Township Police Department with support from Chester County Detectives. Deputy District Attorney Kathleen Wright prosecuted the matter. The plea agreement was reached with input from the victim, who was present in court.
Godorecci’s sentence also requires compliance with Pennsylvania board licensing decisions and regulations.
