LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — Construction on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County will continue next week as part of an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and enhance a 2.1-mile stretch of the expressway, including replacing bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
Starting Monday, March 31, lane closures will be in effect on different segments of the expressway to facilitate various improvements. On westbound U.S. 422, lane restrictions will be implemented between Route 29 and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) upgrades. Eastbound closures for ITS improvements will occur between Evergreen Road and Route 29 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a lane closure will affect eastbound U.S. 422 between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road for bridge beam installation.
Motorists traveling through these areas are advised to expect delays and allocate extra time for their commutes. Drivers are also urged to proceed cautiously and remain attentive in the work zones.
All construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to adjustments as conditions allow, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
