WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) will host two key community events in May 2025, aimed at fostering education, engagement, and stronger ties between law enforcement and the community. These events, “Think Before You Post” and “Cupcakes with a Cop,” provide opportunities for interaction and learning in both informal and informative settings.

Think Before You Post
Date: Friday, May 9, 2025
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Chester County Justice Center, West Chester

Designed to tackle the growing impact of social media, the “Think Before You Post” seminar will educate attendees on responsible digital behavior and the potential long-term consequences of online actions. Sheriff Kevin Dykes emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “One social media post can change everything. That’s why our ‘Think Before You Post’ seminar… is so important.

The free session is open to parents, students, and educators, offering valuable insights into both digital responsibility and the potential legal implications of sharing inappropriate or harmful content. Registration is required to attend.

Cupcakes with a Cop

Location: Dia Doce Cupcakes, High Street, West Chester

To celebrate National Police Week, CCSO will join forces with the West Chester Police Department to host “Cupcakes with a Cop.” This relaxed event aims to strengthen community relationships by providing residents the chance to meet officers in an informal setting while enjoying complimentary cupcakes provided by Dia Doce.

Sheriff Dykes encouraged widespread participation, stating, “We encourage residents of all ages to stop by for open and informal conversations with officers, and to ask questions that lead to a better understanding of the people behind the badge.”
