Night Work to Resume on Route 30 for Centerville Road Interchange Improvements

Traffic Alert

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the resumption of night work on Route 30 as part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.

Beginning Sunday, March 16, weather permitting, construction crews will work Sundays through Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM through late May or early June. Initial operations will focus on the median before progressing to the Route 30 travel lanes. Lane restrictions will be in effect during work hours in both directions of Route 30.

This phase of the $36.3 million project involves concrete patching and milling. The comprehensive effort also includes roadway widening, traffic signal upgrades, guiderail and drainage enhancements, and improvements to pavement markings and ADA facilities. The scope extends beyond the Centerville Road interchange, covering portions of Marietta Avenue and Centerville Road itself.

JD Eckman, Inc., headquartered in Atglen, PA, is overseeing the project, which is expected to reach completion by August 2025. Motorists are advised to anticipate potential delays and remain vigilant in the work zone during these overnight operations.
