PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a long-term lane closure on eastbound Chestnut Street in Philadelphia as part of a local safety improvement project.
From Monday, March 17, through Friday, June 6, a weekday lane closure will be in effect between 62nd Street and 43rd Street. The closure, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily, will facilitate the installation of concrete pedestrian islands aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety.
Motorists are advised to prepare for potential backups and delays in the area and to allow extra time for travel. All operations are dependent on favorable weather conditions, PennDOT stated.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious and attentive when navigating through the work zone. Stay ahead of delays and get real-time updates on road closures and traffic conditions—visit the MyChesCo Traffic Center now!
