BRYN MAWR, PA — Main Line Health has announced Edward Jimenez, MBA, as its new President and CEO, effective June 6, 2025. With nearly 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, Jimenez brings a proven track record in clinical innovation, organizational growth, and employee engagement to the role.
Currently serving as President and CEO of University Hospital in Newark, NJ, Jimenez has led initiatives that include a $1.8 billion campus renovation and expansion, achieving the nation’s top survival rate for liver transplants, and earning a spot on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers. His leadership has been marked by strategic growth and adaptability, including a successful ambulatory strategy that expanded networks and service lines.
“I am incredibly excited and deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead Main Line Health,” said Jimenez. “I look forward to working with the dedicated colleagues and medical staff who are integral to providing exceptional care to our community. I look forward to building on the System’s legacy of excellence by continuing to advance growth strategies that ensure Main Line Health remains a healthcare leader for generations to come.”
Jimenez’s career includes significant leadership roles at UF Health, where he served as CEO and COO, and at institutions such as St. Joseph’s Healthcare System and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During his tenure at UF Health, he expanded operations from $1 billion and 8,000 employees to $2.7 billion with 14,000 employees. He also led ambulatory strategies, founded new joint ventures with community physicians, and authored numerous management and clinical research publications.
The leadership transition comes as Jack Lynch, FACHE, prepares to retire after 20 years at the helm of Main Line Health. Lynch and Jimenez will collaborate over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.
“I am excited to welcome Ed to Main Line Health. His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence make him the ideal person to guide the System into the future,” said Steve Higgins, Chair of the Main Line Health Board of Governors. “I am confident that Ed will build upon the strong foundation Jack has developed and the work he’s done over the past 20 years to solidify Main Line Health as a leader committed to delivering safe, high-quality, equitable and affordable care to our patients and the communities we serve.”
Summary
Edward Jimenez, MBA, will assume the role of President and CEO of Main Line Health starting June 6, 2025, leveraging decades of healthcare leadership experience. He succeeds Jack Lynch, FACHE, and will focus on advancing growth strategies and maintaining Main Line Health’s commitment to clinical excellence.
