BEAR, DE — The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Sunset Station shopping center on Sunday morning, leaving a vehicle riddled with gunfire but no reported injuries.
The incident unfolded on March 2, 2025, at approximately 10:51 a.m., when officers were dispatched to the shopping center, located at 1835 Pulaski Highway, following reports of gunfire. According to preliminary findings, the victim, driving a Chevrolet Equinox through the parking lot, encountered three unidentified male suspects walking in the road. A verbal altercation ensued, during which the victim momentarily exited his vehicle.
After re-entering the vehicle, two of the suspects allegedly drew firearms and fired multiple rounds at the victim’s car. While the vehicle was struck, the victim was not injured in the exchange. The suspects fled the scene on foot towards a residential area behind the shopping center.
Authorities describe the suspects as three Black males dressed in dark-colored clothing. At least two of them are believed to be armed. Surveillance footage and images are currently unavailable as the investigation progresses.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is continuing its efforts to identify the suspects involved. Detective J. Dempsey is urging anyone with information connected to the shooting to come forward by calling (302) 365-8472. Tips can also be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
The authorities emphasize that all allegations remain under investigation, and suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
