KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced an extensive pothole repair initiative set to address deteriorated pavement across more than 65 state highways in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties. The operations will span Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, targeting roads that have faced significant wear and tear from frequent freeze-thaw weather cycles.
Scheduled from Monday, March 3, to Friday, March 7, the initiative will involve PennDOT maintenance crews patching potholes on major roadways, including U.S. 1, I-76, and I-95. Additional repair sites include high-traffic routes such as U.S. 202, Route 3, and Route 63, among others, across urban, suburban, and rural locations affected by seasonal conditions.
Motorists are advised to anticipate lane closures and potential delays near work zones. To ensure safety, drivers are urged to slow down, remain attentive, and avoid distractions while passing through these areas. All project schedules remain weather dependent.
Acknowledging the challenges caused by fluctuating winter temperatures, PennDOT has already addressed over 1,700 pothole-related concerns submitted by the public in District 6 since January 1. Motorists can continue to report issues by contacting PennDOT’s Customer Care Center.
This large-scale repair effort aims to improve road conditions and ensure safe travel for all commuters. Stay informed about road repairs and traffic updates—visit the MyChesCo Traffic Center today for real-time alerts and safer travel!
