WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is inviting the community to celebrate scientific exploration and ingenuity at the 36th annual Chester County Science Research Competition (CCSRC). Featuring over 350 projects from more than 50 schools, the event highlights the talent and dedication of students across Chester County.

The competition spans two days and includes separate fairs for different grade levels. Middle and high school students will present their work during the Lucy Balian Rorke-Adam’s Fair on Tuesday, March 11. Younger participants in grades 4-5 will showcase their projects at the Jonas Salk Fair the following day, Wednesday, March 12. Both fairs will host a free, public open house at 6:00 p.m. at the West Chester University Student Recreation Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of student projects on subjects ranging from botany to zoology. If inclement weather arises, the events will be rescheduled for March 13 and March 14.

The open house serves as an opportunity for students, educators, and community members who are passionate about science to engage with innovative ideas and learn more about ongoing research efforts.

The CCSRC’s mission is to inspire a love of scientific inquiry and discovery among students. By encouraging hands-on, project-based learning, the competition helps participants develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in both education and leadership.

Top-performing individual and team projects from the Rorke-Adam’s Fair will earn the chance to compete in the Delaware Valley Science Fairs (DVSF), taking place April 1-3, 2025, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
