MyChesCo Announces a Comedy Night Supporting the Chester County Food Bank

WEST CHESTER, PA — MyChesCo, your Chester County social media website and a trusted community marketplace, in partnership with Reactors Comedy Club, today announced a Night of Comedy for June 22nd to support the Chester County Food Bank.

“While hunger is no laughing matter, we hope that our Night of Comedy will bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity. We wanted to bring attention to the fact that Summer is a critical time for food banks and pantries,” states Timothy Alexander, owner of MyChesCo. “Many people donate to local food banks at Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, once the holiday food drives end, food donations begin to slip. This is most dramatic starting in April and struggles through the Spring and Summer.”

“Additionally, food insecurity looks different when school is out on break. Many families rely on school lunch programs to feed your children at least one meal a day, if not both breakfast and lunch. So, while Summer means fun for many, for some people it means not knowing if they will be able to provide food for those two meals.”

This evening of comedy will raise money and awareness for the Chester County Food Bank, which serves as the central location for local food cupboards across Chester County. Tickets are $20 and 50% of ticket sales will be donated to the Chester County Food Bank.

The tickets will be sold starting May 3rd. They can be purchased by visiting mychesco.com/events/mychesco-com-comedy-night-for-the-chester-county-food-bank or by contacting Chris at 267-374-0732.
