HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will host a virtual public information session on Tuesday, February 25, at 6 p.m., to present details on the newly developed Delaware River Tailwaters Joint Trout Management Plan. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the PFBC and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) aimed at managing and preserving one of the premier wild trout fisheries in the nation.

The plan will govern trout conservation efforts for the East and West branches of the Delaware River as well as the main branch from Hancock, New York, downstream to Callicoon, New York. Fisheries managers will outline the plan’s primary objectives and invite participants to engage in a Q&A session to address community concerns and gather feedback.

Individuals interested in participating must register online, after which they will receive instructions on how to join the webinar. The PFBC advises potential attendees to review the proposed plan in advance, which is available on the agency’s website.

This virtual discussion aims to gather input from anglers, landowners, conservation organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the plan reflects the needs and desires of those who rely on the Delaware River for recreational activities.
