PHILADELPHIA, PA — Rose Valley-based Hedgerow Theatre Company has unveiled its Winter/Spring 2025 season, featuring a lineup of three thought-provoking productions that blend timeless narratives with innovative perspectives. The season includes a U.S. premiere, a unique Shakespearean retelling, and the regional debut of a poignant, contemporary drama.
“This season celebrates the power of storytelling through bold, reimagined perspectives—both timeless and contemporary,” said Marcie Bramucci, Hedgerow’s Executive Artistic Director. “We showcase voices that challenge, inspire, and connect us… I’m thrilled to collaborate with truly extraordinary teams of artists for each production and to invite our audiences to experience these unforgettable works.”
The season opens in March with the U.S. premiere of Nora: A Doll’s House by Scottish playwright Stef Smith. Directed by Emma Gibson, this adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s classic reframes the story across three different time periods, examining women’s struggles for autonomy. It runs from March 12 to April 6.
Running in repertory with Nora is the Hedgerow Studio Series production of I, Banquo by Tim Crouch, a one-man performance retelling Macbeth from the perspective of Banquo. Directed by Peter DeLaurier, this intimate show will play from March 26 to April 6 with weekday matinees and weekend performances.
The season concludes with the regional premiere of Endlings by playwright and filmmaker Celine Song (Past Lives). Directed by Kalina Ko, this drama explores both the fading traditions of elderly Korean female divers and the personal challenges of a playwright navigating cultural expectations. It runs from May 14 to June 1.
Subscription packages for the three-play season start at $50, with various options including preview nights, opening nights, and accessible daytime performances. Patrons can secure tickets and subscriptions at Hedgerow’s box office or online.
Hedgerow’s Winter/Spring 2025 productions promise to captivate audiences with stories that resonate across generations and cultures, cementing the theatre’s reputation for innovation in the performing arts.
