PHILADELPHIA, PA — Sow Good Now has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Angels Against Addiction to address critical youth mental health challenges in the Philadelphia area. This collaboration aims to integrate mental health education and resources into Sow Good Now’s programming, targeting the rising rates of depression, addiction, and self-harm affecting young people across the region’s five counties.
The partnership focuses on equipping youth athletes with both emotional resilience and athletic skills, fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes healthy living and mental well-being. By leveraging the unifying power of sports, the organizations aim to combat declining youth volunteerism while providing preventative mental health resources to a vulnerable population.
“Through this partnership, we’re not just developing athletes; we’re building leaders who are equipped to meet life’s challenges with strength and compassion,” said representatives from both organizations. Their joint efforts aim to offer a timely response to the alarming rates of anxiety and depression among teens while promoting community engagement.
Upcoming Event Highlights
The first major event in this partnership is scheduled for February 8, 2025, at Immaculata University. The event will unite athletes from the Immaculata University Softball Team and the Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy players for a day of mental health education, team-building exercises, and community service. Participants will gain valuable tools to manage stress, develop empathy, and build resilience both on and off the field.
Additionally, on May 19, 2025, Sow Good Now will host its Fourth Annual Golf Outing at Penn Oaks Golf Club. The fundraiser will directly support the organization’s programs, empowering youth athletes to serve their communities while fostering leadership and mental well-being. Spots are limited, and participants are encouraged to register early for the golf event or opt for the dinner-only experience.
