WEST CHESTER, PA — Centinel Spine®, LLC has announced record-breaking financial and operational results for 2024, marking a standout year for the company. Driven by surging demand for its prodisc Total Disc Replacement (TDR) systems, the company achieved a record $95 million in global TDR revenue, a 38% increase year-over-year (YOY). Both U.S. and International markets saw unprecedented growth, reflecting strong momentum in the spine industry’s expanding motion-preservation segment.
“The Centinel Spine team achieved records in all aspects of our global business in 2024,” said Centinel Spine CEO Steve Murray. “We are exclusively committed to total disc replacement, with the goal of becoming the clear global leader in this fast-growing segment of the spine market.”
Impressive Revenue Growth
Centinel Spine posted nearly $30 million in fourth-quarter prodisc TDR revenue—up 47% YOY—while its full-year TDR sales expanded significantly across key product lines. Global prodisc Cervical sales climbed 39%, while prodisc Lumbar rose 35% YOY. U.S. sales saw particularly strong growth, up 41% compared to 2023, contributing to a total of $77 million in domestic revenue. International TDR sales also rose by 24%, exceeding $18 million for the year.
Strategic product developments played a central role in this growth. The Match-the-Disc™ prodisc Cervical TDR System added over 100 new surgeon users per quarter in 2024, achieving a 46% boost in full-year U.S. cervical revenue. Additionally, the limited release of the prodisc C Nova technology in October 2024 expanded Centinel Spine’s portfolio to four distinct anatomic products under the Match-the-Disc system.
Increasing Surgeon Engagement and Utilization
The company experienced record levels of new surgeon engagement, adding 665 U.S. prodisc users throughout 2024—a 90% YOY increase—bringing its total surgeon base to over 1,100. This surge in adoption was paired with robust demand among healthcare facilities, with over 1,000 locations utilizing prodisc products, a 28% YOY rise.
Centinel Spine’s commitment to specialized education also played a pivotal role, as more than 800 surgeons participated in its global Medical Education programs in 2024. This focus on education continues to drive TDR adoption among both existing and new user bases.
Market Expansion and Reimbursement Gains
The company is well-positioned for continued growth, supported by strengthened lumbar TDR reimbursement policies and expanding patient awareness of motion-preserving solutions. Coverage for the prodisc L Lumbar TDR system saw significant progress, with one-level procedures now at near-universal coverage and two-level procedures exceeding 35%.
The demand for TDR solutions has risen significantly, with a nearly 70% increase in 2024 compared to 2023. This growth is being driven by both surgeons and patients.
Outlook for 2025
Centinel Spine also noted key initiatives underway for 2025, including expanded manufacturing capabilities, continued development of innovative TDR technologies, and further surgeon engagement. Murray expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory, stating, “The prodisc technology not only offers the benefits of our ‘Match-the-Disc’ innovation, it is coupled with the longest demonstrated history of clinical success in disc replacement. We are all-in on total disc replacement and well-positioned for continued success in 2025 and beyond.”
With its resolute focus on TDR and record-setting results in 2024, Centinel Spine is poised to solidify its leadership within this rapidly growing sector of orthopedic implants.
