WEST CHESTER, PA — AccessLex Institute® has teamed up with Equal Justice Works to strengthen the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Coalition’s efforts to promote and improve the PSLF program. The partnership includes grant funding and continued support from AccessLex, enabling Equal Justice Works to manage and lead the coalition’s work.
The PSLF program, created in 2007, offers loan forgiveness to public service professionals after ten years of qualifying work. Through the partnership, the organizations aim to increase awareness of the program’s benefits and advocate for policy improvements to ensure its long-term effectiveness.
“We are excited to partner with Equal Justice Works to harness the strength of the Coalition and its membership to educate more borrowers about the program. We will also urge policymakers to protect PSLF and enact common sense changes that enhance the program’s effectiveness,” said Nancy Conneely, Managing Director of Policy at AccessLex Institute.
AccessLex, a founding member of the PSLF Coalition since 2017, has long championed efforts to expand and improve the program. The coalition, made up of over 100 organizations, works to promote accessibility to loan forgiveness for public service workers, including those providing healthcare, education, and legal aid to underserved communities.
“For over a decade, AccessLex has been a champion for improving the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program to ensure that borrowers have access to the forgiveness they’ve earned. It is more important than ever to make sure the program remains available as a means to increase the public services available to under-resourced communities so that more Americans have access to healthcare, high quality public education, legal services, and more,” Conneely added.
This renewed partnership aims to continue the fight for loan forgiveness and advocate for legislative reforms that will make it easier for public service workers to receive the relief they deserve.
