A Musical Journey Through the Gardens

Music enthusiasts will relish the event’s all-encompassing lineup, featuring both recorded and live performances throughout the day. From 2 to 5 p.m., the historic Longwood Organ—the world’s largest residential Aeolian organ—fills the grand Ballroom with captivating recorded compositions. The live portion of the evening commences at 4 p.m., with a variety of performances spread across the sprawling 1,100-acre garden.

Guests can enjoy the soothing melodies of the Galena Brass Band, situated outdoors at the East Conservatory Plaza from 4 to 9 p.m., or harmonize with the festive renditions delivered by the Olde Towne Carolers, meandering through the gardens between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. The Duly Noted Quartet will also be stationed outside the historic Peirce-du Pont House during the same time frame, bringing their dulcet tones to this family-friendly celebration.

For those eager to experience the majesty of the Longwood Organ live, performances by accomplished musicians David Christopher and Marc Cheban will provide a rich auditory experience. Christopher’s session runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by Cheban from 7:30 to 10 p.m. However, attendees should note that seating for live organ recitals is not available.

The New Year’s Eve celebration extends beyond music, encompassing Longwood Gardens’ renowned fountain and light displays.
