PHILADELPHIA, PA – This holiday season, Scribe Video Center invites families to explore creativity, storytelling, and community history through an Intergenerational Animation Workshop. Led by award-winning animator Lowell Boston, the workshop offers a unique opportunity for youth and their parents or guardians to bond while learning manual and digital animation techniques.

The six-session workshop begins on Saturday, January 11, 2024, and continues every Saturday through February 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM at 3908 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia. The program is designed for families with children aged 6 to 13 and costs $65 or $50 for Scribe members per youth and guardian team.

Participants will experiment with stop-motion animation using cut paper, drawings, and mixed media, as well as digital tools for computers and iPads. The workshop also encourages families to explore and bring their own histories to life through the art of animation, fostering creativity and connection across generations.

Lowell Boston, a seasoned animator with a wealth of experience, will guide attendees through each step of creating their animated stories. Families can expect a hands-on, educational experience that inspires imagination and strengthens bonds.

Registration is now open, and those interested can sign up at scribe.org/workshop/animation. Don’t miss the chance to create lasting memories and celebrate storytelling with this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
