Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Package Theft SuspectSubmitted Image

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities with Philadelphia’s Central Detective Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect connected to an alleged package theft in Center City earlier this month.

According to police, the incident occurred on December 8, 2024, at approximately 2:59 p.m., when an unidentified man allegedly took a package from the doorstep of a residence on the 2000 block of Spruce Street.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing dark clothing and distinct grey sneakers. Investigators have released video footage in hopes of garnering information that could lead to the individual’s identification.

Anyone who sees the suspect is urged not to approach him and to contact 911 immediately. Community members with information about this person or the alleged theft are encouraged to submit tips by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477), texting the same number, or using the anonymous online tip form.

Police are reminding the public that the request for assistance and gathering of tips are part of an ongoing investigation. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
