WILMINGTON, DE — Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested two Wilmington residents in connection with a series of alleged burglaries across North Wilmington neighborhoods. The suspects, identified as 36-year-old Joryi Campusano and 21-year-old Starling Pena-Garcia, face numerous charges related to the incidents.
The investigation began in November of this year, with detectives focusing on burglaries reported in areas such as Faulk Road, Fairfax Boulevard, Darley Road, and adjacent neighborhoods. According to officials, the suspects allegedly targeted homes they believed to be unoccupied. Police state that in some cases, homes were accessed through unlocked windows or doors, while others required forced entry by breaking locks, windows, or doors.
Investigative efforts ultimately led to the identification of the suspects, with Pena-Garcia being arrested in Wilmington on December 13, 2024. Campusano was apprehended five days later, on December 18, 2024, with assistance from the Special Investigations Squad.
Pena-Garcia faces charges including two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft over $1,500, and conspiracy, among other allegations. He was unable to post $32,000 cash bail and is currently in custody at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
Campusano faces a broader set of allegations, including seven counts of second-degree burglary, five counts of theft over $1,500, and burglary of a firearm. His cash bail was set at $108,000, which he failed to pay, and he is also held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
Officials emphasize that all charges are allegations and that the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
