HARRISBURG, PA —Antoinette Hodge, former Treasurer for the City of Uniontown, has been sentenced to 21 to 120 months in prison for embezzling approximately $106,000 of taxpayer money. The sentence, handed down this week, also requires Hodge to pay $106,750 in restitution to the city, along with covering the costs of an audit.
Hodge, who was convicted by a Fayette County jury last month, faced charges including theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. The charges stemmed from an investigation led by the 48th Investigating Grand Jury and prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General.
The trial uncovered that Hodge, elected as City Treasurer in 2019, failed to deposit over $106,000 in cash collected by the Treasurer’s Office between 2020 and 2021. Prosecutors also revealed that she frequently spent taxpayer funds on lottery games.
Attorney General Michelle Henry condemned the betrayal of public trust, stating, “The defendant has now been held accountable for dishonoring her position of public trust by deceiving taxpayers and stealing funds meant for the city of Uniontown.”
The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Kara Rice, underscoring the state’s commitment to addressing financial crimes and maintaining integrity in public office.
