Major Drug Bust in Wilmington: 44-Year-Old Man Faces Serious Charges

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a 44-year-old man following an investigation into alleged drug sales in a residential neighborhood.

Beginning in November, the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division initiated an investigation focused on suspected illegal drug activity in the 100 block of West 27th Street. On December 12, at approximately 1:21 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a location in the area and detained Mark Watson without incident.

During the search, investigators reportedly recovered 52.9 grams of marijuana, 20 Ecstasy pills, 40 milliliters of Promethazine, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Watson has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Watson was released on $11,100 unsecured bail.

Authorities stress that criminal allegations remain under investigation, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
