West Chester Man’s DUI Crash Escalates to Alleged Hospital Assault

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 21-year-old West Chester man faces multiple charges after an alleged DUI-related vehicle accident and subsequent altercation at a local hospital.

West Chester Borough Police reported responding to a vehicle accident in the 50 block of South Matlack Street on December 6, 2024, at 2:03 AM. Upon arrival, officers identified the driver involved in the crash as Tyler Cute. An investigation determined that Cute was allegedly driving under the influence. He was taken into custody and transported to the police station for processing.

Due to the severity of his intoxication, Cute was later taken to Chester County Hospital for medical evaluation. While at the hospital, authorities allege he assaulted and threatened medical staff. These actions led to additional charges, including aggravated assault and terroristic threats, alongside the initial DUI charge.

Cute has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, DUI general impairment, and related offenses. Police emphasize that a criminal complaint only contains allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
