LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has outlined an intense schedule of construction next week as part of a significant $83.6 million infrastructure project. The initiative focuses on reconstructing and improving a 2.1-mile stretch of U.S. 422 and replacing several key bridges in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.
Spanning the area between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road, the construction project is expected to bring temporary traffic disruptions. Motorists traveling through this area should anticipate single-lane closures and intermittent stoppages on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road during the week of December 16 to December 20. Construction is slated to occur at various times across the following locations and schedules:
- Westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) and Armand Hammer Boulevard will experience intermittent single-lane closures from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Sanatoga Road between East High Street and Linfield Road will see 15-minute traffic stoppages with intermittent lane closures in both directions from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, to facilitate bridge work.
- Porter Road between East High Street and Sanatoga Station Road will also have intermittent lane closures with 15-minute stoppages during the same timeframes for similar bridge-related construction.
- Eastbound U.S. 422 between Keim Street and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) will face single-lane closures from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Wednesday, for ongoing road and bridge reconstruction.
- On Thursday and Friday, the same section of eastbound U.S. 422 will have a right-lane closure during the same hours for barrier placement.
