Chadds Ford Man Arrested After Alleged Burglary Attempt and Police Chase in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 22-year-old man from Chadds Ford is facing multiple charges following an alleged attempted burglary in West Chester Borough. Authorities identified the suspect as Raj Patel, who was apprehended after a brief pursuit on the evening of December 1, 2024.

Officers from the West Chester Borough Police Department responded to a report of a suspected break-in at a residence on the 100 block of East Gay Street at approximately 7:57 PM. Upon their arrival, Patel allegedly attempted to flee the scene, leading to a short foot chase. Police successfully detained Patel and transported him to the West Chester Police Department.

According to the police, Patel faces several charges, including burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, simple assault, fleeing on foot, and criminal mischief. The charges allege activity that involved overnight accommodations with individuals present at the time of the incident.

Authorities emphasize that these charges are accusations, and Patel, like all defendants, is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
