Fishtown Freeze Brings Winter Fun to Philly on December 14

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Fishtown will transform into a winter wonderland on Saturday, December 14, 2024, as the annual Fishtown Freeze returns with an exciting lineup of activities. From live ice carvings to holiday markets and family-friendly fun, the event promises something for everyone. Events will run throughout the day, with a complimentary trolley available from noon to 8 p.m. along Frankford Avenue for easy access to all the action. Admission is free, though food, drinks, and gifts are pay-as-you-go. A rain date has been set for Sunday, December 15.

Attendees can enjoy live ice sculpture carvings at three locations, with the first demonstration kicking off at noon at The Battery on Beach Street. Two dozen custom ice sculptures will be on display around the neighborhood, created by Ice Sculpture Philly. Other highlights include complimentary photos with Santa at Frankford Hall from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., a Winter Wonderland at Mural City Cellars featuring mulled wine and an outdoor vendor market, and holiday food specials at The International Bar.

Families are invited to Pizza with Santa at Vince’s Pizzeria, with seatings from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., or to meet adoptable pets at Fishtown Animal Hospital’s Home for the Holidays event from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The festivities cap off with a final ice carving at Garage, near Frankford and Girard Avenues, at 4 p.m.

The fun extends into Sunday with the Fishtown Holiday Shopping Spree, offering progressive discounts at over 20 local shops and boutiques. Visitors can enjoy increased savings as they shop, along with complimentary beverages and holiday snacks at select locations.
