NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are actively seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old John Arce, who has been identified as the suspect in an alleged vehicular assault and robbery that occurred on the evening of December 4, 2024, at a Shell gas station in Newark.
According to authorities, the incident took place at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Shell station located at 380 East Chestnut Hill Road. A 38-year-old man was reportedly walking through the lot when a red passenger car allegedly accelerated toward him, striking him at a high speed. The driver, later identified as Arce, then exited the vehicle, stole the victim’s wallet, and fled the scene.
The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Investigators have since determined that Arce, who is reported to be a family member of the victim, is the primary suspect in what police describe as a targeted crime. His current location remains unknown.
Troop 2 Robbery Detectives have obtained a warrant for Arce’s arrest on multiple felony charges. Police are urging the public to assist with their efforts to locate him.
