WEST CHESTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the continuation of roadway construction on Business U.S. 322 (High Street) in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township, Chester County, as part of an ongoing safety improvement project.
From Monday, December 9, through Friday, December 13, periodic lane closures with flagging will occur on Business U.S. 322 (High Street) between Miner Street and Rosedale Avenue. Construction will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists traveling in the area should anticipate backups and delays and are encouraged to allocate additional travel time. All construction activities are weather dependent.
The project is focused on enhancing safety along the corridor, including new traffic signals at University Avenue and Sharpless Street, the addition of retroreflective backplates and pedestrian countdown timers at intersections, curb extensions, high-visibility crosswalks, and LED lighting. Further improvements will include drainage upgrades, pavement restoration, and full roadway resurfacing.
The $2.6 million federally funded project is being executed by Marino Corporation of Skippack, Pennsylvania, with an anticipated completion in winter 2026.
