PHILADELPHIA, PA — Five Below, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIVE) has announced the appointment of Winnie Park as its Chief Executive Officer, effective December 16, 2024. She will also join the company’s Board of Directors. Park, a seasoned retail executive with over 30 years of experience, is stepping into the role to guide the company’s continued growth and innovation.
Park will collaborate closely with Kenneth Bull, Five Below’s Chief Operating Officer, and Co-founder Thomas Vellios, who will continue in his role as Executive Chairman. Based in Philadelphia, Park will lead efforts to strengthen the brand’s focus on value-driven retail and customer engagement.
“Winnie is a passionate retail visionary with a deep understanding of the consumer and the power at the intersection of trend and value,” said Vellios. He emphasized her expertise in merchandising, global business, and her strong leadership approach, which aligns with the company’s culture. “Together, with Ken’s deep knowledge of our business, we will unlock tremendous potential for our customers and shareholders.”
Park joins Five Below after serving as CEO of Forever 21, where she spearheaded a major brand renewal. Her leadership emphasized connecting with young shoppers through omnichannel strategies, including social media, e-commerce, and innovative partnerships like the brand’s award-winning collaboration with Roblox. Prior to Forever 21, Park was CEO of Paper Source, where she transformed the brick-and-mortar retailer into a thriving omnichannel brand. She also held leadership roles at Duty Free Shoppers under LVMH, Levi Strauss & Co., and McKinsey in the areas of retail and digital strategy.
Reflecting on her new role, Park expressed her admiration for Five Below’s ability to resonate with young shoppers through its diverse and affordable product selection. “There is enormous opportunity to build on the exciting initiatives that are already underway,” she said. “I’m excited to be part of the continued growth of the brand and to partner with Tom, Ken, and the talented team as we execute on the long runway for growth ahead.”
Meanwhile, COO Kenneth Bull, who has been with Five Below since 2005, expressed his optimism about Park’s appointment. “Her experience, leadership style, and deep focus on people – both customers and crew – make her a great fit. I look forward to partnering with Winnie in driving the next phase of Five Below’s growth.”
Five Below operates over 1,300 locations nationwide, offering a dynamic shopping experience with an array of on-trend, budget-friendly products targeting teens and pre-teens. With Park at the helm, the company is poised to build on its success and expand its market reach.
