PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are requesting assistance from the public in identifying a person allegedly involved in an attempted break-in at a Philadelphia apartment building. The incident is under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department‘s Central Detective Division.

According to reports, the incident occurred on November 30, 2024, at approximately 2:55 a.m. in the 1300 block of Cambridge Street. Surveillance footage shows an unknown female suspect arriving in a dark-colored minivan. The individual is seen exiting the vehicle and attempting to force entry into the apartment building by pulling on its door multiple times. These actions reportedly caused the glass to break; however, despite the damage, the suspect was unable to gain access to the premises. She subsequently fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Police have described the suspect as a Black female with orange hair. At the time of the incident, she was reportedly wearing an orange jacket, a purple shirt, tan pants, and tan shoes.

Authorities are urging residents not to approach the suspect if spotted. Instead, they recommend immediately contacting 911. Individuals with information regarding this case or the identity of the suspect can anonymously submit tips by calling 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting the same number. Reports can also be directed to the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or 215-686-3094.

Investigators emphasize that this is an active case, and additional details may emerge as the inquiry progresses. It is critical to note that all individuals accused are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
