PHILADELPHIA, PACatholic Community Services (CCS), an outreach of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is set to host its 11th annual “Operation Bundle Up” this Saturday, December 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at Saint Martin of Tours Church, located at 5450 Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia, and will provide much-needed cold-weather essentials to local families ahead of winter.

Dedicated to aiding individuals and families experiencing challenges, CCS will distribute winter coats, hats, gloves, and other vital cold-weather clothing through this community-focused initiative. With the generous support of volunteers and community partners, the event emphasizes the Church’s commitment to serving vulnerable populations during the season of giving.

Joining CCS in their efforts will be the Philadelphia Police Department, the Philadelphia Fire Department, members of the American Heritage Credit Union, and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Their presence underscores a unified effort in addressing the needs of residents facing hardships.

A Day of Giving and Connection

“Operation Bundle Up” goes beyond providing winter clothing by creating a festive atmosphere filled with family-friendly activities. The event will feature face painting, refreshments, and a special visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, bringing a sense of joy and celebration to the day.

Additionally, families attending will have the opportunity to engage with approximately 20 vendors offering valuable resources and services. CCS will also host a “free market” table with a limited supply of baby clothing and school supplies available to those in attendance.

A Tradition of Service

The annual success of “Operation Bundle Up” reflects the enduring impact of CCS’s mission and the community’s support. At last year’s event, CCS distributed over 1,000 coats and cold-weather accessories to nearly 450 families. This year, the initiative aims to continue making a difference by addressing the essential needs of even more individuals and families.
