BUCKS COUNTY, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for pavement crack sealing along New Falls Road in Bucks County. The maintenance work will require overnight closures in select areas over the course of two weeks, impacting traffic in Middletown, Bristol, and Falls townships.
The first phase of the scheduled closures will take place from Wednesday, December 4, through Friday, December 6, between the hours of 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. During this period, New Falls Road will be closed to through traffic between Route 413 (Veterans Highway) and Newportville Road in Middletown and Bristol townships. Motorists traveling through the area will be detoured via Newportville Road, Ford Road, and Route 413 (Veterans Highway).
The second phase of closures will occur from Monday, December 9, through Friday, December 13, also from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This segment of work will affect New Falls Road between Edgely Road and Tyburn Road in Bristol and Falls townships. Drivers will be routed along an alternate path using Edgely Road/Woodbourne Road, Trenton Road, and Tyburn Road.
Local access will remain available for residents and businesses near the construction zones. However, motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time to account for possible backups and delays caused by the closures.
All scheduled activities are contingent on favorable weather conditions. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution when traveling near the work sites and to obey detour signage and construction crews’ instructions.
