Traffic Alert

LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced significant construction activities scheduled next week on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County. The work is part of an extensive $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing the expressway and replacing key bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

Motorists should expect the following lane restrictions and traffic impacts:

  • Beginning Monday, December 2, through Friday, December 6, intermittent single-lane closures will occur on westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) and Armand Hammer Boulevard from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM to facilitate road and bridge reconstruction.
  • During the same period, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sanatoga Road between East High Street and Linfield Road will experience intermittent single-lane closures and 15-minute traffic stoppages for bridge demolition.
  • Porter Road, spanning East High Street to Sanatoga Station Road, will face similar 15-minute stoppages and lane closures between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM to accommodate bridge removal work.
  • On eastbound U.S. 422, intermittent single-lane closures will be in place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM between Keim Street and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) for road and bridge reconstruction.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time for travel due to anticipated delays and backups in the affected areas. Motorists are reminded to proceed cautiously through construction zones, as crews and heavy equipment will be actively working. All scheduled construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change in the event of adverse conditions.
