WEST CHESTER, PACommunity Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), a nonprofit dedicated to providing free healthcare to uninsured workers in Chester County, has announced a $150,000 grant from the Bentley Family’s Foxwynd Foundation. The donation marks the foundation’s highest grant amount and represents a significant step forward in CVIM’s mission to expand access to care.

The funding will enable CVIM to increase its primary care offerings, addressing the needs of nearly 5,000 individuals and families who rely on the organization for medical and dental services. A portion of the grant will also serve as a donation-matching challenge, encouraging contributions from other donors by matching their gifts.

“Everyone deserves access to quality care,” said Maureen Tomoschuk, President and CEO of CVIM. “This generous gift will allow us to reduce wait times and extend services to more patients.”

Founded in 1998, CVIM operates with the support of 350 clinical and support volunteers, providing vital healthcare services to the region’s uninsured working population. The Bentley Family’s support reflects its shared belief in accessible healthcare as a fundamental right.

“At Foxwynd Foundation, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right,” said Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of the foundation. “CVIM’s commitment to serving uninsured and underserved individuals aligns closely with our mission to create meaningful impact in the communities we support.”

With the grant, CVIM anticipates addressing growing demand and ensuring that more residents receive timely and comprehensive care, strengthening its role as a critical healthcare resource in Chester County.
