Unexpected Return: Middletown Man Arrested for Alleged Carjacking at New Castle Dash-In

NEW CASTLE, DEDelaware State Police have arrested Antoine Carter, a 41-year-old resident of Middletown, in connection with an alleged carjacking at a Dash-In located on North Dupont Highway. The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 11, 2024.

Authorities reported that at approximately 3:34 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the scene following a carjacking report. The 37-year-old victim was accompanied by a friend into the parking area. It is alleged that this friend, identified as Carter, approached the victim, striking her in the face through the open car window. Subsequently, the victim was reportedly forced out of the vehicle and onto the ground, after which Carter allegedly fled the scene in her Chevrolet Impala.

Remarkably, Carter returned to the Dash-In shortly afterward, where he was apprehended by troopers without resistance. Following his arrest, he was transported to Troop 2 for processing. Carter has been charged with first-degree robbery, a felony offense. After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bond.

As the investigation continues, it is imperative to note that the charges against Carter are merely allegations. Individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
