CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is set to enhance the safety and quality of travel in Chester County with a series of resurfacing projects scheduled from Monday, November 18, to Friday, November 22. These crucial improvements will take place on several state highways, ensuring a smoother ride for all motorists.
During this period, drivers can expect lane closures daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the following routes:
- Homeville Road/Cream Road/Scroggy Road: Expect lane closures for base repair between Bryson Road and Pine Street in Upper Oxford and Lower Oxford townships as well as Oxford Borough.
- Street Road/Township Road: Lane closures will also be in effect for base repair between Forge Road and Dalton Road in Lower Oxford.
- Route 896 (Newark Road): A lane closure will occur due to base repair between Homeville Road and Baltimore Pike in Upper Oxford Township.
- Union School Road: Paving operations will lead to lane closures between Street Road and Cream Road in Lower Oxford Township from Tuesday, November 19, to Friday, November 22.
- Edenton Road/Ewing Road: Base repair will result in lane closures between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 926 (Street Road) in Upper Oxford Township.
- Route 926 (Street Road): Lane closures are anticipated for base repair between Ewing Road and Route 10 (Limestone Road) in Upper Oxford Township.
As always, motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time when navigating through these work areas, as delays and backups may occur. All activities are weather-dependent, and PennDOT is committed to minimizing disruptions while prioritizing safety.
Through these resurfacing and improvement initiatives, PennDOT’s contractors will be repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement, providing a safer and smoother riding surface for all.
