ROSE VALLEY, PA – This holiday season, Hedgerow Theatre Company invites audiences to experience a reimagined presentation of the cherished classic, “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.” From November 27 to December 29, the theatre, nestled in a historic 19th-century grist mill at 64 Rose Valley Rd, Media, PA, will present this heartwarming tale through an innovative radio play format, directed by the acclaimed Pete Pryor.

The production offers a fresh perspective on George Bailey’s iconic journey, set within the nostalgic framework of a 1940s radio broadcast. The talented ensemble, featuring Mary Lee Bednarek, Tyler Elliott, Kennedy McAlister, Christopher Patrick Mullen, and Brian Anthony Wilson, will bring multiple characters to life, integrating live sound effects and music directly on stage. This unique adaptation by Joe Landry transforms the classic film into a dynamic theatrical experience, employing actors to create an immersive soundscape that captivates the audience’s imagination.

Performances are scheduled to begin with a preview on November 27 at 7 p.m., followed by the official opening on November 29, which includes a post-show celebration. The production runs through December 29, offering 25 performances in Hedgerow’s intimate 100-seat venue.

Under the direction of Pete Pryor, a celebrated figure in the theatrical community with multiple Barrymore Awards to his name, the creative team promises to encapsulate the spirit of hope and community that defines Frank Capra’s timeless story. The production reunites Pryor with actors Mullen and Wilson, reprising their successful collaboration from Hedgerow’s 2022 adaptation of A Christmas Carol Comedy.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, patrons can partake in Winter Warmer Receptions on December 5, 12, and 19, featuring refreshments and live music. The December 12 event is designated as a PRIDE Night, celebrating inclusivity within the LGBTQIA+ community.
