PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of nighttime lane closures on northbound I-95 in South Philadelphia, scheduled for next week. From Monday, November 4, through Wednesday, November 6, motorists traveling between the Broad Street and Packer Avenue interchanges will encounter intermittent lane closures from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
These closures are necessary to facilitate overhead sign work, part of a broader effort to enhance the infrastructure in this busy corridor. Drivers should anticipate delays and are encouraged to allocate additional travel time during these hours. All scheduled activities are contingent on favorable weather conditions.
This undertaking is a component of a larger initiative designed to improve pedestrian and multimodal transport connections between Center City and the waterfront. Central to this project is the construction of a new Park at Penn’s Landing and the creation of a signature bridge at South Street. Both developments will extend over Columbus Boulevard to seamlessly link to the Delaware River Trail, enhancing access for cyclists and pedestrians.
