Juvenile Arrested in Wilmington on Alleged Drug Charges

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department has announced the arrest of a male juvenile on allegations of drug-related offenses. The arrest occurred on October 10, 2024, at approximately 11:24 a.m. when officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were patrolling the 200 block of Lombard Street.

Officers reportedly observed the young individual, a 16-year-old male, engaging in activities suspected to be related to drug transactions. Upon making contact, authorities took the juvenile into custody without resistance. During the arrest, law enforcement officials discovered the juvenile in possession of 1.29 grams of crack cocaine and 2.61 grams of marijuana.

The juvenile now faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. Following his arrest, he was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court. Consequently, he was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center under a secured bail of $5,000.

It is important to note that a criminal complaint or arrest does not imply guilt. As with all suspects, the juvenile is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation continues as the authorities work to address the broader issues related to drug activities in the area.
