Dramatic Heist Attempt: Walmart and Loan Office Targeted in Bold Lancaster Robbery Plot!

Arrest

LANCASTER, PA — A recent incident in Manheim Township has led to serious allegations against 25-year-old Jzaad Lee Motato of Manchester, Connecticut. On September 19, 2024, Motato was apprehended following reports of an attempted robbery at a local Walmart located at 2030 Fruitville Pike. The events unfolded around 5:27 p.m. when Motato allegedly tried to seize money from a cash register as an employee was closing the drawer. In the process, he reportedly grabbed the employee’s hand.

Witnesses provided a description of Motato, which enabled law enforcement to locate him swiftly at a nearby store. Upon confrontation, Motato allegedly confessed to his attempt, citing financial need as his motive.

Further investigation by the police revealed additional alleged misconduct at Lendmark, a financial institution offering loans. Motato is accused of trying to access money by pulling at a cabinet drawer and declaring, “I know you have money in here.” He was reportedly asked to leave the premises and escorted out by a staff member.

While detained at the Manheim Township Police Department, Motato allegedly engaged in vandalism by spitting on his hands and smearing saliva over the holding cell’s camera. These actions have led to additional charges being filed against him.

A criminal complaint was officially filed on September 20, 2024, leading to Motato’s arrest. He was subsequently committed to Lancaster County Prison with bail set at $250,000.

The allegations against Motato remain to be proven in a court of law, and he is presumed innocent until a legal verdict is reached.
